The word love portrays a quality of the heart. It comprises a very vast meaning compared to other qualities, and it is very powerful with regards to its effect. Due to it, the heart inclines and is drawn to the beloved. This creates such fervour in the heart of a man that he at times is prepared to sacrifice everything in attaining the love of his beloved. In fact, the lover annihilates himself and abandons his attributes and qualities, imbibing within himself the attributes and qualities of the beloved.

From all of creation, our Nabi SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam has the greatest right to be loved. In fact, He has a greater right to be loved than our own beings.
Allaah Jalla Jalaalahoo states, “The Nabi (SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has a greater right over the believers than their own lives and his wives are their mothers.”
[Ahzaab verse 6]

Love for Nabi SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam is a portion of imaan. This poem of Allamah Buseeri Rahimahullaah, when recited with feeling and understanding, will create true love for Rasulullaah SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam. When this love is created, obedience to Rasulullaah SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam will become second nature.

The result of this will be an increase in salawaat upon Rasulullaah SalAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam, the desire to follow his sunnah and propagate his teachings in the entire world, and a strong urge to meet him in the Hereafter.
