The lands of Jordan and Palestine are rich in Islamic history with great virtue, barkat and blessings. Indeed these lands are blessed for Allah Ta’ala Himself, in the Qur-aan has called it, “The land which We have blessed its surroundings.” Once Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said to his Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum), “How wonderful is Shaam!” The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) asked, “Why is that?” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam replied, “I see the angels of Allah Ta’ala spreading their wings over Shaam.” Ibn Abbaas radiyallahu anhu then added, “The Ambiyaa (alayhimus salaam) lived therein and there isn’t a place in Al Quds (Jerusalem) where a Nabi has not prayed or an angel has not stood.” Each place is full of history and has great lessons in it for those that visit.

Since many Muslims visit these blessed lands, it would be beneficial to note down the history and virtues of each site as this will make the trip more meaningful for the visitor. Knowing the virtues of each place will most definitely increase the value of the noble journey and create love and respect in the heart of the visitors.

This booklet was prepared on our trip to these blessed lands with our respected ustaad, Hadhrat Mufti Ibraaheem Salehjee Saahib (daamat barakaatuhu) in Ramadhaan 1433. Throughout the journey, Hadhrat Mufti Saahib (daamat barakaatuhu) had given us extremely valuable advices. Together with a brief account of the history and virtues relating to the different places, these advices have also been penned down for the benefit of the reader.
